What is the role?

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Development Coach to join our Academy. The purpose of this role is to identify the individual development needs for each player within the B team programme. Plan, deliver and review individual progress of players to support their transition into the first team environment.

What are we looking for?

To thrive in this role, you will have previous experience working with young players within an elite sporting environment and have meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have very strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate feedback & development plans to players effectively and build relationships with all stakeholders.

The competencies which are required include:

Essential Experience:

• Experience of working with U18 players within a category one environment.

Desirable Experience:

• Working within an under 23 category one environment.

Essential Qualifications (including certifications):

• UEFA A Coaching License

• The FA Advanced Youth Award

Desirable Qualifications (including certifications):

• Another qualification in a different discipline i.e. sport science or psychology

Essential Skills:

• Ability to build relationships with players assuring of confidence and trust.

• Good interpersonal skills – must be a consistent team performer.

• Ability to prioritise workload.

• Excellent IT Skills and familiarity with scouting databases.

• Excellent organisational qualities.

• Ability to work to tight deadlines. The nature of the business means that there are significant variations in the level of activity; this requires the Job Holder to work whatever hours are needed to allow deadlines to be met.

• Trustworthy and adherence to codes of conduct, ethics and confidentiality.

• Identifiable track record in Scouting and recruitment.
